The City of Lawton’s Youth & Family Affairs Committee is calling on Lawton 501c3 organizations to apply for grant funding for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.

The application period will take place from Monday, December 2, 2024 to Friday, January 31, 2025 and is specifically for local nonprofit organizations aiming to host programs for the City’s youth during the upcoming fiscal year (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026).

Applications may be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 2025.

This is a competitive grant opportunity and organizations must demonstrate through their application that their program will:
1. Focus on at-risk youth
2. Provide opportunities for life and/or career enhancing skills
3. Increase the percentage of youth that stay in school
4. Increase the percentage of youth that stay active in programs that foster youth development
and prevent involvement in crime
5. Promote academic or other non-athletic related activities and life skills.

Required pre-application training will be held on November 26, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the Banquet Room of Lawton City Hall located at 212 SW 9th Street. This training will cover the requirements and guidelines for the YFAC grant process, including but not limited to the application procedures, financial documentation standards, compliance expectations, and allowable expenditures. Attendance at this training shall be a prerequisite for any organization or individual seeking to apply for YFAC grant funding. Additional training dates will be announced at a later time.

The total amount of funding available for FY25-26 programs is approximately $375,000.00, subject to funding appropriated by City Council. The Youth & Family Affairs Committee is planning to make a recommendation to the City Council regarding funding requests in June 2025.

Please note: This is the only opportunity to request funding for the upcoming fiscal year.
