Stale Dated Checks

In an attempt to clear up outstanding items, we found that the following checks were issued and have not cleared our bank to date. Pursuant to 11 O.S. §22-136, any tangible property held for the owner by a municipality that remains unclaimed for one year or more after becoming payable is presumed abandoned and shall be disposed of as may be determined and directed by the municipal governing body.

If your name appears on this list, please fill out the Check Affidavit and Request for Stop Payment form and submit to finadmin@lawtonok.gov. You may also mail the form to City of Lawton Financial Services, 212 SW 9th Street, Lawton, OK 73501.
