These are the primary organizational structures for the City of Lawton.


Animal Welfare

Lawton Animal Welfare’s (LAW) provides public health and safety for the citizens and animals of Lawton, Oklahoma.


Arts and Humanities

The Mission of the Arts and Humanities Division is to encourage and promote artistic expression and diversity in the City of Lawton.


City Clerk

City Clerk employees are the keepers of official city records, such as City Charter, budgets, ordinances, contracts and the like.


Community Services

The Community Services Department is dedicated to continually improving the level of service we provide to the community.


Emergency Communications

The Emergency Communications Department aids the public and other public safety agencies with emergency and non-emergency requests for service.


Engineering

The Engineering Department is responsible for the construction administration of capital improvement program projects, city capital outlays projects and other special funding projects.


Finance

The Finance Department consists of three divisions: Finance Administration, Financial Services, and Revenue Services (Water Department).


Fire

The Mission of the Lawton Fire Department is to serve our community with compassion, loyalty, and utmost integrity by providing rapid and professional incident mitigation, promoting public safety education, and striving for constant improvement through quality training.


Human Resources

The City of Lawton Human Resources Department provides services and support to the public, City officials, and other City departments.


Information Technology Services

The Information Technology Services Department (ITSD) is committed to providing strategic vision, leadership, and solutions for all things technology by ensuring that technology is an asset for all of the stakeholders of the City of Lawton and its Regional partners. 


Lakes

The Lakes Division provides recreational camping, boating, fishing, and hunting services.


Legal 

The Legal Department is led by City Attorney John Ratliff and represents the City of Lawton's legal interests before judicial and administrative agencies, and effectively and efficiently prosecutes all misdemeanor criminal offenses for violations of Lawton City Code.


Library

The Library provides opportunities to engage in life-long learning through books, resources, classes, and so much more.


Municipal Court

The Lawton Municipal Court handles criminal and traffic misdemeanor offenses that are in violation of city ordinances.


Parks and Recreation

The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life by providing safe, well-maintained parks and public places; preserving open space and historic resources; caring for people; strengthening the bonds of community; and creating opportunities for renewal, growth, and enrichment.


Police

It is the mission of the Lawton Police Department to deliver professional, effective services, fairly and ethically, in a respectful manner, to all people, to prevent crime, and enhance the overall quality of life for our citizens and visitors; to encourage and promote community involvement on all levels to achieve these goals ~ Chief James T Smith


Public Utilities

The Public Utilities, headed by Director Rusty Whisenhunt, is comprised of the Sewer System Technical, Sewer System Construction, Wastewater Maintenance, Wastewater Collection, Water Distribution, Southeast Water Treatment Plant, Medicine Park Water Treatment Plant, and Wastewater Treatment Plant Divisions.


Public Works

The Department of Public Works, through its employees, provides for the delivery of high quality, cost-effective, efficient, and safe services involving public infrastructure and facilities to enhance the quality of life in Lawton.
