Mission Statement

To maintain and enhance the streets, providing a safe transportation network in our community. Utilizing trained, dedicated, and professional personnel, with an emphasis on exceptional customer service.


Function Statement

The Street & Traffic Control Division is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing and sweeping *1,220 lane miles of dedicated streets and alleys. Producing, installing and maintaining regulatory and non-regulatory signs, installing and maintaining vehicle and pedestrian lane markings, traffic and pedestrian barriers and providing temporary traffic control for repair operations and community events. This division performs rapid mobilization, assessment, deployment of resources during Emergency events and assists in recovery operations.

The following is a list of things drivers should be aware of when encountering sanding equipment on the roadways:

Do remain at least 200 ft behind sanding equipment

Don't attempt to pass sanding equipment

Don't pull alongside or behind equipment at a controlled intersection, always allow 200 feet of clearance
