RSVP Advisory Council

Mission Statement

City of Lawton RSVP receives its identity from and is partially funded by a grant awarded to the City of Lawton by AmeriCorps Seniors. The Advisory Council has set out to engage adults 65 and older to participate in volunteer services to meet critical community needs and of providing a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers.

To be eligible to serve as a member of RSVP and/or the Advisory Council, individuals must be 65 years of age or older, reside in Comanche County or in one of its border counties, and must agree to serve without compensation.

Current members include Councilwoman Mary Ann Hankins, Sam Samuels, Tony Washington, Lennetta Davenport, Mary Fountain, Joyce Grimes, Gloria Monroe, Shirley Williams and Jessica Musselman.

The Advisory Council meets the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am at the Owens Center and does not meet during the months of May, June, November, and December, unless a special meeting is called.
