Vacation - Full-Time Employees

Annual Accrual Rates for full-time employees

  • 1-4 years: 80 hours
  • 5-8 years: 100 hours
  • 9-12 years: 120 hours
  • 13-16 years: 140 hours
  • 17-20 years: 160 hours
  • 21-24 years: 180 hours
  • 25 years or more: 200 hours

A regular employee shall be eligible to begin using vacation benefits on their 6th month of employment. Regular employees may accumulate a maximum of 280 hours of vacation leave. Any vacation leave in excess of two hundred and eighty (280) hours for full-time and one hundred and forty (140) hours for part-time not used by the start of the first full pay period of the calendar year, will automatically be paid to the employee at seventy-five (75) percent of their hourly rate. 

Annual Accrual Rates for part-time employees

  • 1-4 years: 40 hours
  • 5-8 years: 50 hours
  • 9-12 years: 60 hours
  • 13-16 years: 70 hours
  • 17-20 years: 80 hours
  • 21-24 years: 90 hours
  • 25 years or more: 100 hours

A regular part time employee shall be eligible to begin using vacation benefits on their 6 month of employment. Regular part time employees may accumulate a maximum of 140 hours of vacation leave. Any vacation leave in excess of 140 hours not used by the end of the fiscal year (June 30th) will be forfeited.

Sick Leave

Full-Time employees accrue 96 hours of sick leave per year. Regular part time employees accrue 48 hours of sick leave per year.

Holidays

Regular employees shall be entitled to 12 holidays per year, with the exception being when Christmas Eve falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. In years when Christmas Eve falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, regular employees shall then be entitled 13 holidays for that year. The holidays shall consist of the below listed fixed holidays and 5 flexible holidays.

  • New Years Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Friday after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve (when this day falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday)
