Beanstack is an online platform that allows individuals to sign up for challenges, contests, and other fun trivia including Winter @ the Library, 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, and more! In Beanstack, readers can earn virtual badges by tracking books or minutes read and completing activities to earn real prizes.
You can access Beanstack at lawtonok.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack App in your iTunes or Google Play store.
In the app, Select Organization Type—School, Library, or Bookstore. Click on ‘Find a Site’ & enter Lawton Public Library. Select Lawton Public Library & sign up!
The goal is for you to read 1,000 BOOKS with your child from birth until kindergarten. You may read the same book multiple times!
1,000 Books is as easy as:
1 book per day for 3 years = 1095 books
10 books per week for 2 years = 1040 books
3 books per day for 1 year = 1095 books
Book Mateys Reading Patch Club
Ahoy! Welcome to the Lawton Public Library Book Mateys Reading Patch Club! This self-paced reading challenge is for kids ages 0-12 years.
To receive this patch, you must read 10 books related to your theme. Please choose books on your reading level!
When you have completed all 10 books and earn your badge, visit either library to claim your patch.
Read 500
Read (or be read to) for 500 minutes a month each school year from Kindergarten to 3rd grade. That’s only 20 minutes a day for 25 days of the month!
For every 3 badges you earn, you will get to pick out a free book and an entry into the grand prize drawing. One grand prize winner will be selected on May 31st each year.
100 Books Before High School
Self-pace reading challenge for kids in grades 4-8. Read 100 books before high school!
Receive 1 free book & a mini button for every 20 books read! Read all 100 books to receive a High School Survival Kit & a certificate of completion.
100 Books By Graduation
Self-paced reading program for kids each school year in grades 9-12.The goal is 100 books by graduation!
